Hugo Asbach was born in Cologne in 1868, his apprenticeship took him to France, where he learned to burn wine.

In 1892 he returned to Germany and founded his own wine distillery in Rüdesheim am Rhein. After his death, Asbach’s success story is continued by his sons and is now enjoyed in over 50 countries around the world.

The label on the bottle is based on the original document on which Hugo Asbach noted the recipe in 1892.

The lion on the seal represents the heraldic animal of the Asbach family which symbolizes the courage of the founder and stands for the strength and power of the product.

Asbach begins at the wine distillery in Rüdesheim, on the Rhine.

Only selected wines that meet the highest standards qualify for the elaborate roughing and fine firing process.

In the process, the heart is obtained: the fine firing with 75% vol. and with the best properties to later become Asbach.
