The oldest operational distillery on the isle of Islay, built in 1779. Today it is part of the Suntory Group, having been acquired by the Japanese company in 1994. Under their ownership is has been nurtured into one of the most collectable names in Scotch whisky.
Matured exclusively in first and second fill ex bourbon casks, this Islay Single Malt from the island’s oldest distillery exhibits qualities of both. Married together in small batches and bottled at 40% abv.
The nose offers vanilla fudge, peat and sea spray balanced with honeycomb and cinnamon. The palate brings a gentle saltiness with mouth-watering citrus and vanilla, before a wispy smoke on the finish with lime and vanilla aspects.
