At 9 degrees north latitude, you can find the location of the only ageing cellar in Costa Rica. This is the home of Ron Centenario; premium Costa Rican rums, which are “aged by nature.”

Our premium dark rums are allowed to age within an inter-urban biological corridor. The ageing cellar is situated in an area that is surrounded by rivers, volcanoes, forests and a wealth of biodiversity – including more than 40 species of birds – at an altitude of 1208 metres above sea level.

Within this utterly unique ageing cellar, nature creates the ideal climate for the ageing process, with the perfect balance of freshness and humidity. Furthermore, our rums are aged in American White Oak barrels, which used to contain Scotch whisky. This innovative touch gives our oak barrel aged rums an even greater depth of flavour. The Ron Centenario Gran Legado 12 Secrets is a rich flavor rum, with a balanced sweetness. It is a bold rum with vanilla notes, strong notes of red fruits, a balanced body, and a permanence of flavours, creating a unique mouthfeel.

As we have such a close affinity with Costa Rica’s natural landscape, Ron Centenario are deeply committed to sustainability. Our production methods are powered by 99.98% solar energy and a portable water well (which also allows us to donate water to our community). In addition to taking part in national and international programmes – including Nature’s Godparent and Rescue Center Costa Rica – we also pride ourselves on our internal actions.

Our team take part in reforestation and river cleaning, and provide ongoing support to our local communities. All these efforts have positioned us as a brand committed to quality and innovation, with great social impact.
