The charmingly named Wee Mongrel Batch 3 is here! Little Brown Dog gives the moniker to its blended spirits, and this beautifully aged 21-year-old Scotch lives up the substantial hype surrounding its predecessors.

While we don’t know a huge amount about the release, it has spent its long years in both Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The label artwork is by local creator Katie Watson. The release is limited to just 573 bottles.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Rich dried fruits with nutmeg, jammy berries on toast, croissants and a soft earthiness.

Palate: Evolves a little darker, with liquorice, cherry, clove, cumin, dark chocolate powder and a subtle leather note.

Finish: Medium length with the drifting sweet spices.

Wee Mongrel Batch No #3 from Little Brown Dog Spirits, an experimental MicroDistillery based in rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Aged for 21 years, this blended whisky is matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Oloroso sherry casks, imparting rich, velvety flavours to its complex profile.
