Royal Lochnagar - 12 Year Old (Game of Thrones) House Baratheon | 2349!

Royal Lochnagar - 12 Year Old (Game of Thrones) House Baratheon ThumbnailRoyal Lochnagar distillery is based on the Abergeldie Estate in Royal Deeside, Scotland, close to the mountain Lochnagar.

The first Lochnagar distillery was burnt down in suspicious circumstances in 1824 and a replacement again burnt down in 1841. In 1845 John Begg built the "new" Lochnagar.

The distillery was awarded its Royal Warrant in 1848 when John Begg invited Prince Albert to visit the distillery from the nearby Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s residence in the Highlands. The next day the distillery was visited by Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their children.

Royal Lochnagar - 12 Year Old (Game of Thrones) House Baratheon ThumbnailToday Royal Lochnagar is owned by Diageo, and the distillery produces a relatively small amount of whisky, most of which is used in Johnnie Walker black and blue label.

The Royal Lochnagar 'House of Baratheon' is one of 8 limited edition bottling's in the Diageo collection of Game of Thrones malts.

House Baratheon - After leading the rebellion against the Targaryen dynasty, Robert Baratheon took his seat upon the Iron Throne to rule over the Seven Kingdoms. The Baratheon stag flew on banners above the Stormlands and King's Landing and golden antlered crowns signified absolute power. Over time, the Baratheon lords proved to be better warriors than rulers, and their house now lays in ruins.

Glenlossie 2011 OLO 12 Year Old | 2368!

Glenlossie became part of DCL (now Diageo) in 1919, who made it part of their Haig stable in the 1930s.

The distillery has always been hugely important to the Diageo blends, and excepting the staff-only Manager's Dram, the Flora & Fauna is the only distillery bottling, and one of the few from the series still in production.

Independent bottlings are more common, but are still decidedly rare.

This Glenlossie was distilled in November 2011 and matured for 12 years, including a finshing period in single Oloroso sherry cask #7125.

It was bottled by Global Whisky as part of their Oloroso-themed OLO series.

One of 281 bottles.

Mannochmore 2009 Fable 12 Year Old / Chapter Five - Hound | 2380!

A Speyside malt distillery constructed by Distillers Company on the grounds of Glenlossie in 1971.

Its primary purpose is the provision of fillings for Diageo blends and its single malt is rarely officially bottled, although commonly found from independent bottlers.

A mythical bottle of Mannochmore single malt here! Well, it's not actually mythical, it's totally real, we're looking at it right now – but it was independently bottled by the folklore-loving-gang at Fable and we were trying to keep on the storytelling theme...

Anyway, this one was distilled in May 2009 and allowed to rest in a single hogshead cask until June 2021 – that's a dozen years of maturation right there. A delightful and completely real classic Speysider.

Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba Batch No.005 | 2385!

One of many Speyside distilleries in the Pernod Ricard portfolio and up until 2018 was part of just a select group of three from which they marketed single malts, alongside Glenlivet and Strathisla.

The French multinational operate it through their Chivas Brothers Scotch whisky division.

The Aberlour A’Bunadh Alba Batch 5 is named after the Quercus Alba variety of American white oak used to craft the ex-bourbon barrels in which this whisky rested.

Bottled a robust cask strength of 62.7% abv this dram packs a real punch.

There’s fresh green apples, sweet pears and vanilla cream aromas, followed by explosions of citrus lemon zest, tangy grapefruit and all-butter shortbread on the palate.

Enjoy the rewarding sweet and smooth finish with hints of toasted almonds.
