Compass Box Delilah's XXV Scotch Whisky - 25th Anniversary | 2968!

The second Compass Box homage to Delilah's, the legendary punk rock whisky bar in Chicago. The first was bottled on the advent of it's 20th anniversary in 2013, and this 5 years later on its 25th.

The whisky itself was produced using a small parcel of the original 20th anniversary blend, matured for a further 5 years, with Spanish sherry oak and American oak matured malt whiskies added to the mix.

Compass Box Whisky Company is a Scotch whisky blender that was established in 2000 by John Glaser. The company prides itself on its boundary-pushing approach to its creations and is one of the foremost advocates for transparency in the whisky industry when it comes to blended whisky recipes.

The signature Compass Box brand is the batch-released Hedonism blended grain, and its core range is completed by Orchard House, The Story of the Spaniard, The Spice Tree and The Peat Monster blended malts. These are supported by regular and often revered limited editions, many of which have become collector's items.

The flagship single malt brand of the Lochranza distillery on Arran. Originally launched as The Arran Malt in 1998, it was renamed simply as Arran in 2019.

Although its core range has always been a non-peated whisky, some occasional limited releases of peated single malt have also been produced.

A new cask finished Arran for 2019! Continuing Arran's excellent sourcing of wine casks for their finishes, we have a Côte-Rôtie red wine finish (casks sourced from the Rhône Valley in France).

This Single Malt has been finished in these casks for approx. 7 months and the resulting Single Malt is complex and bursting with flavour.

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours Feis Ile 2023 | 2009!

Since its establishment in 1815, The Ardbeg distillery has been on a tumultuous rollercoaster ride of ownership changes, closures, and reopening. Stability was only achieved relatively recently, when the ailing distillery was purchased in 1997 by industry giants, Glenmorangie.

The subsequent years have seen the distillery’s popularity swell, with fans enticed by the signature style of tarry, sooty smoke, balanced against citric sweetness and an oily mouthfeel.

While Ardbeg still retains its distinctive personality, it has definitely been influenced by Glenmorangie’s propensity for experimenting with cask finishing, and (dare we say it) NAS expressions.

Heavy Vapours Feis Ile 2023:

The 2023 Feis Ile release from Ardbeg has interestingly been distilled without a purifier, this allows the heaviest and untamed vapours to rise up the still during distillation and creates an intense, aromatic and sweet flavour.

This unusual process has been brought to life in a graphic novel by artist and illustrator Dilraj Mann.

The distillery also discovered the potential Glen Moray had as a single malt and now the core range has no less than 8 expressions.

Released in the 1990s, this range depicts different Royal Highland Regiments. This is The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders.

Tomintoul 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish 2006 Ediiton | 2065!

Tomintoul Distillery was built in 1965 and then purchased by Whyte & Mackay in 1973. It is situated on the banks of the Spey’s main tributary, the Avon.

The distillery is named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland.

Starting life as a small site with two stills, the number has since doubled. Its style also appears to have shifted on at least two occasions from the overtly fruity manifestations of its earliest guise to a more cereal-accented make in recent years.

In 2000, Tomintoul was bought over by Angus Dundee Distillers, the distillery produces mature spirit for blends as well as releasing their own single malts. The distillery also produces a peated version named “Old Ballantruan”.
