Johnnie Walker Old Harmony | 1857!

Johnnie Walker Old Harmony was released for the Japanese market at the end of the 1970’s.

Production was seized just a couple of years later, This is the first release of Old Harmony, replaced by a redesigned label some time later.

With its distinctive square bottle, its label angled precisely at 24° and the iconic Striding Man, Johnnie Walker is the world's best selling Scotch whisky retailing more than 20 million cases a year.

It was first created in Kilmarnock in 1865 and is now available in almost every country in the world with the establishment of significant 'Houses' across Asia.

Between 1906 & 1909 John Walker's grandsons introduced the colour names which the bottles still bear to this day with the Blue Label - introduced in 1992 - being the rarest.

An older styled Johnnie Walker bottled for the Asian market.

Glenmorangie 12 Year Old The Lighthouse Edition | 1860!

One of the most recognisable names in Scotch whisky, Glenmorangie were quick out the gates to advertise and promote their Single Malt to a global audience as early as the 1960s.

While this undoubtedly played a part in the rather sizeable market share they enjoy today, some credit has to be given to the whisky itself.

Their famous stills stand as tall as a fully grown adult giraffe, and as well as giving them ultimate Top Trumps bragging rights, this has the benefit of producing a smoother and more delicate spirit.

Pioneers of cask finishes, the distillery has never shied away from experimentation, and under the guiding hand of Maestro Dr Bill Lumsden they continue to release a variety of expressions to keep "The Sixteen Men of Tain" rushed off their feet.

Age: 12 Years Old, Cask Type: Bourbon & Sherry, 48% ABV, Bottle Number: 3861 / 4782

Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Vat & Glasses Gift Set + 10 Instant Wins | 1861!

Glenfiddich was founded in Dufftown by William Grant, who had honed his craft at Mortlach distillery; and on Christmas Day 1887 the first spirit ran from the stills.

Thanks to Grant's tenacity and stubborn self belief, the distillery flourished during a period of turbulence in the industry, and has grown to become one of the best selling brands of single malt whisky in the world, only occasionally trading the number one spot with fellow Speyside behemoth, Glenlivet.

Still owned by the Grant family today, the pioneering distillery is responsible for a lot of "firsts" in whisky world. Perhaps most importantly, they were the first to really promote the idea of drinking whisky as a single malt as opposed to in blends.

They were also the first distillery to open their doors to the public, sparking a trend that has undoubtedly benefited the Scottish tourist industry greatly.

Boasting a solid core range of expressions that are easily accessible to whisky newcomers, yet have layers of complexity that appeal to seasoned connoisseurs alike. There's a reason Glenfiddich is numero uno!

Suntory Special Reserve Pagoda Bottle | 1867!

One of the Japanese whisky giants, Kotobukiya, or as we know them today; Suntory. The company was founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1899, first as an importer of Western wines and liquor.

As he progressed within the business, he decided to build Japan's first distillery despite protests from company directors. This is where Masataka Taketsuru comes into the picture.

He was hired as a distillery executive at Yamazaki on the outskirts of Kyoto. He later left the company to found his own. Suntory developed Japan's interest with whisky by opening Torys bars throughout the country and introducing ways to drink and enjoy the spirit.

Now they produce numerous ranges including Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Hakushu. 43% ABV / 76cl

Wolfburn Gessner Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 1870!

Situated on Scotland’s rugged north coast, the Wolfburn distillery was first established in 1821, rapidly becoming the largest distillery in the Caithness area.

The purchase of the land was finalised in May 2012 and the first ground was broken on the new site just a few months later. The new Wolfburn distillery building is just a short walk along the burn from the old site towards the sea.

The Flow Country covers much of Caithness and has done so since the end of the last ice age. It is an ancient and almost unique environment, the largest expanse of blanket peat bog in Europe, perhaps the entire world.

Today Wolfburn’s distillers fashion their whisky the same way it was always made, by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Distilled, matured and bottled on-site at the Distillery.

Crafted for Alexander Weine & Destillate to celebrate the life and works of Conrad Gessner, the 16th Century physician, philosopher and zoologist. The Wolfburn wolf logo is based on a Gessner woodcut which appeared in the 17th Century publication "History of Four-footed Beasts and Serpents".

Lagavulin 1999 Distillers Edition + 10 Instant Wins | 1875!

Launched in 1997, this ‘finished’ range from Diageo sees the Classic Malts enhanced in carefully chosen wine casks. These limited release bottlings are a wonderful alternative view of some of the world’s best-loved whiskies.

Refined in Pedro Ximenez barrels, Distillers Edition is a sharp contrast to the highly peaty 16-year-old edition.

The oakiness of the barrels, with its rich and sweet aromatic palette, has made for an unctuous, spicy whisky in which the peat proves soft and smoky. Get to know Lagavulin from a different angle!

Distilled: 1999, Bottled: 2015, Cask Type: Pedro Ximenez, 43% ABV

Jura 19 Year Old The Paps | 1876!

Located on the West Coast of Scotland is the Isle of Jura, where the red deer population outnumbers the human population by 5000 to 200. The island lies only 60 miles from Glasgow, (as the crow flies), yet can take rather a long time to reach.

It consists of one road, one pub, one distillery and one shop and is often described as remote. In fact, while writing the classic "1984", George Orwell described the island as "The most un-getable place".

Originally built in 1810 the distillery fell into disrepair and wasn't revived until the 1960's by two local estate owners. It is now under the ownership of Philippines-based "Emperador INC".

Age: 19 Years Old, Cask Type: Bourbon Barrels / PX Sherry, 45.6% ABV

Springbank 15 yr old + 10 Instant Wins | 1879!

For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century.

Alas; ultimately (and perhaps inevitably) it proved unsustainable, and by 1935 the bubble had well and truly burst, with only Springbank and Glen Scotia distilleries remaining.

The family owned Springbank is unique in that it remains the only distillery in Scotland where 100% of the production process is carried out on site, and while it produces three distinct styles (in Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn), its eponymous Springbank expression still accounts for the lion’s share of production.

A medium peated, two and a half times distilled spirit, Springbank is complex, robust and never boring!

Frequently described as the Springbankiest Springbank! The 15 year old epitomises the distillery’s characteristic style perfectly.
