This is a 1990s bottling of the long-serving 12 year old core-expression. It was repackaged into the square glass bottles as part of the Diageo Hidden Malts range in 2002, before being rebranded as part of The Singleton range in 2006. This particular bottle has been signed by Willie Meikle. William 'Willie' Meikle had a significant role in a number of distilleries within the United Distillers portfolio. After training in Oban, St Magdalene and Glenlossie distilleries, Willie was appointed assistant manager of the now-lost Coleburn distillery. In 1973 he moved to Islay, and was tasked with overseeing the enormous rebuild of Caol Ila distillery. He served as distillery manager there until 1979, when he returned to the mainland to manage Glendullan distillery. In 1983 he was appointed manager of Glen Ord distillery, where he also played a large role in developing the facility's visitor centre. Willie retired in 1995, and passed away in July 2024.
Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team, Max & Claire Vaughan and the first of its kind to be located in Derbyshire. This was the fourth and final release of single malt spirit from Ardnamurchan, matured in first-fill sherry casks (both oloroso and Pedro Ximenez).
The Cargill features Adelphi's own single malt from their Ardnamurchan distillery blended with single malt from Cardrona distillery in New Zealand.
Glen Ord is a well-respected distillery, sought after as a single malt and by blenders alike. The distillery operates its own in-house maltings, which supply all of Diageo's northern distilleries, as well as Talisker and occasionally heavily-peated malt for the Islay sites. Glen Ord was first officially bottled as a single malt in the 1980s, but has had a bounty of different names over the years; Glen Ord, Glenordie, Ordie, Ord, and Muir of Ord. It is currently part of the Singleton stable.
