The Haig's Dimple 15 Year Old - Fine Old Original | 1790!

Robert Haig was distilling as long ago as the early 17th century - making them the oldest Scotch whisky distillers in the world - but his great-grandson was the one to commercialise the family tipple.

By 1733, only the decade after it had been founded by Kane McKenzie Haig, the Stirlingshire-based distillery became Scotland's largest and the world's first commercial distillery. The family also went on to establish the predecessor of the Jameson distillery in Bow Street, Dublin.

Nowadays the home of Haig is known as the Cameronbridge distillery and is recognised for making grain whisky.

Haig's Dimple (known as the Pinch in the US market) is a more expensive blend with a high malt proportion, with malt whisky from Glenkinchie and Linkwood.

Bottled in one of the world's most recognisable bottles this blend remains a favourite of the world's whisky drinkers.

Miltonduff 15 Year Old Ballantine's Series #2 | 1797!

The first release in a series of single malts bottled by Ballantine's intended to showcase the strengths and flavours of three of the core distilleries that comprise Ballantine's blended whisky.

This Speyside expression, distilled at the Miltonduff in Elgin, has been matured in an American Oak cask for at least 15 years before being selected by Sandy Hyslop for bottling.

Miltonduff is a vital component to the Ballantine's range and the majority of its output is used in the world's second best selling blended whisky. Interestingly the distillery once used triple distillation and also Lomond Stills for a while, although not at the same time.

The spirit that ran from the Lomond Stills was called Mosstowie and it was discontinued in 1981.

Glenfiddich - Experimental Series #2 - Project XX 1811!

The second experiment of an ongoing series took place privately at the Glenfiddich Conval warehouse. Shrouded in secrecy, malt Master Brian Kinsman invited 20 whisky experts from around the world to select any expression of their choosing from the thousands of stacked casks.

The final 20 chosen malts, matured in everything from port pipes to virgin bourbon barrels, have created an unusual, innovative and unexpected whisky, one that has exceeded even our expectations.

“I wanted to create an unexpected whisky. Traditionally every malt whisky is chosen and vatted by one Malt Master to their taste, but what if there were 20 Malt Masters? It was an experiment in whisky personality.”‒ Malt Master Brian Kinsman

Deep gold in colour, Project XX has the warm summer fruity character of a classic Glenfiddich but then multiple personalities are revealed as the flavour of sweet cinnamon spice, almonds and rich port tannins kick in with the odd hint of liquorice.

Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Year Old Whisky, Aged in Bourbon & Sweet White Wine Casks | 1817!

Founded in 1843 in the Royal Burgh of Tain, in the far north of Scotland, Glenmorangie is Scotland's Favourite Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

The distillery is famous for its distinctive tall stills - the tallest in Scotland - which play an important role in the development of the complex and fruity house style. We are also recognised as the pioneer of extra-maturation in the 1980s and for innovative work in the field of cask management since the early 1990s. Proudly claiming our whiskies are ""Unnecessarily Well Made"", producing a range of aged and extra-matured expressions alongside the signature Glenmorangie Original and the groundbreaking Glenmorangie Signet.

The darkest and most intense whisky in our core range, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban has spent 10 years maturing in American white oak casks, before being transferred into specially selected ruby port pipes from the Quintas or wine estates of Portugal. "Pipes" are the largest types of casks used to mature whisky. With a capacity of around 600 litres, they are close to the maximum legal size for maturing Scotch whisky (700 litres). "Barriques" are a lot less common in Scotland than Barrels or Butts.

They are typically used in the wine industry and hold around 225 litres Glenmorangie released the industry's first port cask finish in 1994. It was a 1975 vintage A perfect gift. Award-winning.

Macallan Fine Oak Triple Cask Matured 12 Yr Old Whisky | 1819!

The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. Now owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan prides itself on its Six Pillars, which include its curiously small stills, very narrow 'cut' of new make spirit and exceptional cask management.

It is the most sought after whisky for collectors, regularly setting records at auctions all round the world.

A new £140 million subterranean distillery and visitor centre on the Easter Elchies estate was opened to the public in the summer of 2018 and has since won several awards for its architectural quality; with its exciting features including glass walls of vintage whiskies, a circular pod of copper pot stills, and a Boutique reflecting those in Dubai and Heathrow airports.

Fine Oak: 12 Years Old

First introduced in 2004, the Fine Oak range was a milestone for Macallan, as it was the first expression released by the distillery that was not solely matured in Sherry casks.

The range was met with an initial scepticism from Macallan fans, but over the years it has won over many doubters.
