Fast forward to 1993, and we see Jamie Walker, the great-grandson of one of the distillery’s founders reviving the Adelphi name as an independent bottler, ultimately selling the company to Keith Falconer and Donald Houston in 2004, who went on to found Ardnamurchan distillery. Whiskies bottled by Adelphi are selected by a nosing team chaired by whisky critic Charles MacLean, and their outturns have received numerous accolades including several Malt Maniacs Awards. Black Bull was first produced as a blend by the Dundee-based blenders George Willsher & Company in the 1860s and came to prominence after the repeal of prohibition in the U.S. in the 1930s. By the end of the 1980s Black Bull had become a very well known name in the US. It has also been sold in a number of countries throughout Europe with Italy being the most prominent. Dalwhinnie was one of the six original Classic Malts when they were selected by United Distillers (now Diageo) back in 1988, and it was tipped to become the favourite among consumers on account of its flawless floral flavours and elegant character. Although eventually pipped at the post by the smoky dark horse that was the Lagavulin 16 year old, it remains a well-loved single malt. The distillery is both the highest and coldest in Scotland, contributing to its unique flavour through the rapid condensing that occurs in its worm tubs. There were just 1,045 bottles produced free from chill filtration and artificial colouring. Bimber is a Whisky distillery in London. 'Bimber' means moonshine in Polish. The founders of the distillery emigrated to London from Poland in 2003 to start their business. The first casks were filled in May 2016. Loch Lomond distillery was an innovative project when first conceived, intending to be fully self-reliant in its blending responsibilities by producing a variety of single malt and grain whiskies on the same site.
1825 saw the official opening of the Adelphi distillery in the Gorbals, Glasgow, but after changing hands a smattering of times throughout the mid to late 1800’s, it finally ended up in the hands of DLC in 1902. Sadly, production at the distillery ceased shortly afterwards.

Duncan Taylor & Company presides over the ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of Scotch whisky casks. Though the company’s origins lie in Glasgow as a whisky merchant and broker, its headquarters are in Huntly in the North East of Scotland.
One of the most recognisable names in Scotch whisky, Glenmorangie were quick out the gates to advertise and promote their Single Malt to a global audience as early as the 1960s.
