Glenmorangie A Tale Of Tokyo Limited Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky + Gift Box | 1580!

Founded in 1843 in the Royal Burgh of Tain, in the far north of Scotland, Glenmorangie is Scotland’s Favourite Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The distillery is famous for its distinctive tall stills – the tallest in Scotland – which play an important role in the development of the complex and fruity house style.

Inspired by visits to Japan, Glenmorangie’s director of distilling and whisky creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden, decided to create this pretty single malt you see here.

Glenmorangie’s A Tale Of Tokyo is the fourth release in the ‘Tale of’ series and the first one to be partially aged in Japanese Mizunara oak casks.

It’s actually a marriage of whisky aged in both sherry and bourbon barrels as well as Glenmorangie whisky aged in the rare Japanese wood.

It was all bottled together at 46% ABV and sports a label and packaging made in collaboration with celebrated Japanese artist, Yamaguchi Akira. It’s their perspective of the city’s contrasts and layers of history and culture that inspired the design.

 

Nose Sandalwood, incense, dried cherries, vanilla, star anise, and that trademark Glenmorangie tangy orange note.

Palate A silky palate reveals more notes of citrus alongside marzipan, fennel, dried fruit, white pepper, toffee apple, and a little cinnamon.

Finish Mandarin and toasted almonds.
